Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced MDM Architect to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our enterprise Master Data Management capabilities. This role will be responsible for defining MDM architecture, governing master data domains, and ensuring high-quality, trusted data across end-to-end business processes and to enable strategic AI initiatives. This role partners closely with data engineering, application teams, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient, and business-aligned master data solutions.
As an MDM Architect, you will be responsible for:
MDM Architecture & Design
- Defining and maintaining the enterprise MDM architecture, including domain modeling, match / merge strategies, survivorship rules, hierarchy management, and reference data design
- Designing MDM solutions using Informatica IDMC (Multidomain MDM, C360 / S360 / R360, CDQ, CDI, CAI) aligned to enterprise data architecture standards
- Establishing canonical master data models and integration SLAs for downstream consumers
Integration & Data Flow Patterns
- Architecting and governing batch and real-time integration patterns between source systems, MDM, and the Databricks data lake
- Designing event-driven and API-based integrations for real-time master data synchronization
- Ensuring efficient propagation of golden records to operational systems, analytics platforms, and data products
Data Quality & Governance
- Partnering with Data Governance teams to define data ownership, stewardship workflows, data quality rules, and exception handling
- Embedding data quality controls, metrics, and monitoring into MDM pipelines
- Supporting compliance, auditability, and lineage requirements
Platform Enablement & Optimization
- Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of MDM solutions
- Optimizing ingest, matching, and publishing processes for high-volume and high-velocity data
- Providing architectural oversight for releases, upgrades, and platform enhancements
Leadership & Collaboration
- Acting as a technical authority for MDM across the enterprise
- Mentoring data engineers and developers on MDM leading practices
- Translating business requirements into scalable, well-governed master data solutions
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Have a bachelor's degree
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, MDM, or enterprise data platforms, with at least 3 years in an MDM-focused role
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale MDM initiatives across multiple domains (e.g., Customer, Supplier, Location, Finance)
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed environments with architecture, engineering, governance, and business teams
- Demonstrated ability to influence standards, drive alignment, and make pragmatic architectural decisions
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance data governance rigor with business agility
- Proficiency with SQL and data modeling (relational and analytical)
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and data management leading practices
- Hands-on experience with the Informatica platform, including IDMC, on-premises MDM, IDQ / PowerCenter
In addition, you'll have a dynamic understanding of:
- Informatica IDMC, including Multidomain / MDM 360 solutions, Cloud Data Integration / Cloud Application Integration (CDI / CAI), Cloud Data Quality (CDQ), API & Application Integration
- Match / merge logic, survivorship rules, hierarchies, reference data, and stewardship workflows
- Integrating MDM with Databricks-based data lake architectures (Delta Lake medallion architecture)
- Batch (ETL/ELT) and real-time / event-driven integration patterns
- Experience with APIs, messaging/streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka or equivalent), and CDC-based designs
- Experience designing MDM solutions in modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with security, identity management, data privacy, and access control as they relate to master data

The annual pay scale for this position is between $127,310.00 - $270,030.00.
Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes’ good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation. You will have a choice of coverage options that best suit your needs. Coverage options and contribution amounts are related to your benefit elections, base salary level, and specific requirements of each of these plans.
You will be eligible to participate in the Baker Hughes Short-term incentive plan applicable for the above position. The actual payout for your short-term incentive award will be based on company and individual performance and is contingent upon Baker Hughes achieving pre-determined financial results.
