What we are looking forWe are looking for a Marketing Manager to support the Central Business Unit by advancing strategic marketing and business development efforts that position SCS Engineers for growth. This role leads market research, client pursuits, and business development support while managing staff responsible for proposals, qualifications, presentations, and marketing materials that communicate our capabilities and value to clients. The Marketing Manager sets priorities, manages workloads, and fosters collaboration with technical and business development leaders — while also contributing directly to execution on key pursuits and strategic initiatives. Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills are essential to guide pursuit teams, align stakeholders, and develop competitive strategies and compelling messaging. This position will be based out of our Overland Park office and you may work hybrid.

Organizational Relationships
- Reports to the Director of Marketing.
- Collaborates with project managers, project directors and business unit leadership.
- Coordinates with corporate marketing teams and marketing staff supporting other business units.
Business Development and Pursuit Strategy
- Engage early in the pursuit process to help position SCS with key clients and opportunities.
- Support capture strategies including client research, competitive analysis and positioning.
- Identify client decision makers, influencers and partners; contribute to action plans that strengthen relationships.
- Support key account planning and strategic business development initiatives.
- Step in where needed to advance priorities and contribute to long-term process improvements.
Proposal and Qualification Development
- Oversee Marketing Coordinator in planning and delivering SOQs, proposals and presentations.
- Analyze RFQs, RFPs and client advertisements to develop response strategies and pursuit plans.
- Run kickoff meetings, manage pursuit schedules and coordinate technical staff contributions.
- Guide teams through content development and review cycles; incorporate feedback into final deliverables.
- Translate value propositions into clear themes, messages and proof points.
- Support interview preparation including messaging, structure and coaching.
Marketing Content and Materials
- Maintain and update project descriptions, resumes, capability statements and core materials.
- Collaborate with practitioners to capture project data, client testimonials and technical insights.
- Keep materials current, on-brand and aligned with client confidentiality requirements.
Client and Market Intelligence
- Research clients, competitors and trends to inform pursuit strategies.
- Track opportunities and BD activities through company systems.
- Translate market insights into actionable information for technical teams.
Brand Alignment, Adoption and Stewardship
- Convert existing materials to align with current brand standards.
- Own consistent brand expression across the region in marketing, physical space and outward-facing presence.
Collaboration and Support
- Share resources, templates and best practices with marketing staff across regions.
- Support consistency in pursuit processes, messaging and proposal development firmwide.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives supporting brand awareness, recruiting and client engagement.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Occasional travel may be required for pursuits, conferences or client events.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field required.• Minimum of 8 years of progressive marketing experience required, ideally in AEC, B2B or professional services required.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and producing proposals, qualifications and presentations.• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.• Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
Pay RangeUSD $110,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
