Full Job Description
RK&K is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and relationship-focused Marketing Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a marketing professional who enjoys engaging with technical teams, learning about complex projects, and partnering with subject matter experts to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and pursuit strategies that help win work.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of engineers, planners, environmental scientists, and construction professionals. Success in this role requires someone who is naturally curious, enjoys connecting with people, and is eager to become a trusted partner to technical staff across a wide range of disciplines.

In this role, you'll lead and/or oversee the development of proposals, interviews, and other marketing materials for transportation and construction pursuits. You'll collaborate closely with technical and marketing professionals throughout the firm, helping shape winning strategies, craft persuasive content, and communicate RK&K's value to clients. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in major pursuits while contributing to a highly engaged and collaborative office culture.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as a strategic partner to technical leaders, helping identify, position, and pursue opportunities that align with RK&K's growth objectives.
  • Build strong relationships across a large, multidisciplinary office, engaging regularly with technical subject matter experts and firm leadership.
  • Lead and/or oversee the development of winning pursuit strategies, proposals, presentations, qualifications packages, and interview materials for potential opportunities.
  • Manage and mentor marketing staff, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth while promoting best practices across the team.
  • Facilitate proposal planning meetings, guide technical contributors, and oversee pursuit teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and compelling deliverables.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to identify key differentiators, client-focused messaging, and storytelling opportunities that effectively communicate RK&K's value.
  • Support and influence pursuit efforts by maintaining marketing resources, project information, resumes, and pursuit-related content.
  • Track marketing and pursuit activities, maintain CRM data, and prepare reports that support business development and strategic planning initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience leading proposal development and marketing efforts within the architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.
  • Proven success leading complex, high-visibility pursuits and collaborating with technical professionals to develop winning strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing marketing professionals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and build consensus among diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional relationship-building abilities and a genuine interest in partnering with technical staff to understand and communicate their expertise.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 15 years of experience leading proposal development and marketing efforts within the architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.
  • Experience managing pursuit teams across multiple offices and coordinating large, multidisciplinary proposal efforts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • CPSM certification or other relevant marketing/business development certifications.
