Full Job Description
The Marketing and Customer Insights Specialist will lead the development and execution of data-informed marketing strategies that drive customer participation in EWEB programs and services. This role bridges customer insights and campaign execution - translating research, behavioral data, and market analysis into targeted marketing strategies that support program design, maximize enrollment, and achieve measurable outcomes.

Working as part of the Communications & Marketing team, this position will partner closely with Customer Programs and data teams to ensure that customer insights are integrated early in program development and that marketing efforts are strategically designed, implemented, and continuously optimized to meet participation, equity, and organizational goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of marketing strategy, customer segmentation, and performance marketing practices such as lead generation and conversion optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-channel marketing, including digital, email automation, direct mail, paid media, and community-based outreach.
  • Familiarity with customer journey mapping and lifecycle marketing.

Skills
  • Proven ability to develop data-driven marketing plans tied to measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of formats.
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative market research methodologies, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a cross-functional environment without direct authority.
  • Ability to connect marketing strategies to operational goals such as demand response, energy efficiency, and conservation.
  • Capacity to quickly learn utility industry concepts, including energy and water efficiency, rate design, and customer programs

Location: This position is based in Eugene, Oregon, and has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working onsite. The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon. Out of area candidates may be eligible for a relocation reimbursement.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting annual salary for this position is $106,417.25 to $133,021.57 commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

The base pay offered will be established based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge and skills, relevant experience, and internal equity. Consistent with EWEB's compensation philosophy, it is not customary to place individuals at the high end of the salary range at the time of hire. Compensation decisions are made holistically to support fair, consistent, and equitable pay practices, taking into account the specific circumstances of each position and candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, economics, or related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, with demonstrated experience in:
  • Customer insights and marketing research
  • Data-driven campaign strategy execution
  • Performance metrics (e.g., conversion, enrollment, ROI)

Priority will be given to applications that highlight the following qualifications:
  • Experience in utilities, energy and/or the public sector.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, or customer data platforms.
  • Experience working with behavioral programs (e.g., demand response, conservation, subscription models).
  • Demonstrated experience in equity-focused outreach and inclusive engagement strategies.
