About the RoleKitsap Credit Union is in search of a Content Marketing Specialist. The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for contributing to and executing KCU's content strategy and supporting marketing operations through integrated storytelling, campaign contribution, and community engagement. This role bridges member-facing narratives and acquisition goals by executing content strategies across social media, newsletters, blogs, and digital channels; contributing to marketing initiatives under the direction of marketing leadership; and providing support for community events and organizational culture in partnership with marketing team members and other departments. A core expectation of this role is consistent in-person content generation across all KCU touchpoints.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES- Manage Social Media, Digital Content Channels, and Program Documentation
- Execute content strategy across social media, newsletters, blogs, and digital channels
- Write, curate, and distribute content aligned with KCU brand and business objectives
- Build keyword-driven content optimized for both SEO and AI-driven discovery
- Monitor online conversations and provide community management through comments, messages, and reviews
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with community partners and influencers
- Monitor and report on performance of social media and digital programs
- Contribute ideas, perspective, and performance data to inform strategies
- Coordinate third-party vendor relationships under leadership direction
- In collaboration with marketing leadership, contribute to development, refinement, and documentation of KCU's social media strategy.
- Maintain current social media strategy and procedure documents and support annual updates.
- Support the audit and risk assessment process by ensuring procedural documentation is current and compliant.
- Remain current with content marketing, social media, and campaign news and trends.
- Culture and Event Coverage (Social Storytelling)
- Attend and support community events, member gatherings, sponsorship activations, staff meetings, and member-facing initiatives assigned by leadership.
- Capture photos, short-form video, quotes, and stories that reflect KCU's culture, values, and community commitment.
- Support the social media staff ambassador program by coordinating participation, gathering content contributions, and assisting with program logistics.
- Create post concepts and draft captions that highlight member moments, employee achievements, and organizational culture.
- Coordinate reviews and approvals prior to publishing.
- Organize and archive captured assets for reuse across newsletters, blogs, social, and campaign channels, including internal channels.
- Support Community Events
- In partnership with marketing team members, provide support for event planning, sponsorship activations, and member engagement initiatives.
- Assist with event promotion, logistics coordination, and communication to internal and external audiences.
- Support Department Operations
- Support the distribution of organizational announcements, information, and policy updates on internal channels.
- Support effective department and credit union operations by completing additional related responsibilities as assigned.
- Support shifts in marketing priorities between content/social media execution, campaign support, and event initiatives as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- Three-plus years of content strategy planning and execution experience across multiple content types (social media, blog, video, email, digital, marketing collateral, etc.)
- Two-plus years of demonstrated experience executing content distribution across email, social, and digital channels
- Two-plus years of demonstrated experience with data analysis and using performance metrics to inform decisions
- Proficiency with basic design software, such as Adobe Express or Adobe Creative Cloud
- Possession of a valid Washington State Driver's License and must pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION - Intermediate or greater proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
- Additional education or experience in copywriting, journalism and/or public relations preferred.
- Experience supporting or coordinating community events or sponsorship activations preferred.
- Experience optimizing content for AI-driven discovery and search preferred.
SUPERVISORY STATUS.This position does not supervise others.
WORKING CONDITIONS.- This position operates in both an office environment and in the field. Regular travel throughout Western Washington is expected, including visits to KCU branches, member business locations, and community events. Must be comfortable working in varied environments and outdoor weather conditions.
