Purpose of the Role

The Market Development Specialist (MDS) plays a critical role in our division’s profitable revenue growth targets, owning relationships with builders, framers, and installers. You will be the face of our brand in the field, ensuring our products are favored by the end-users with whom our premium features can drive the most value. The ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking customers is required.

As a key member of the team, you will develop and execute selling programs, work job sites, and attend selling events focused on end-user education and engagement. You will build a funnel of awareness, consideration, and purchase intent with end users and support purchase through our sales channels. Data analysis and strong CRM utilization help translate these efforts to lead generation, brand recognition and loyalty, and revenue growth. 

This role is based in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive awareness with end-users through activities such as on-site demos, training, and selling event support

  • Conduct job site prospecting, utilizing job mapping, identifying end-user targets and plan site visits

  • Utilizes CRM platform to build and track a quantified opportunity pipeline aligned with core target end-user segments and maintains pipeline through sales process from exploration through conversion and retain

  • Tracks sales funnel activities for end-user leads and communicates with field sales team for follow-up activities and customer coordination/support

  • Partners with channel sales teams to facilitate end-user conversions and repeat business through both Distribution/Hardware/Lumberyard and Home Center channels

  • Assists in development of end-user sales programs and promotions through collaboration with Sales Development Manager and Marketing team

  • Leads implementation efforts with new end user accounts and critical initiatives

  • Achieves and exceeds sales goals through the development and monitoring of an annual sales plan

  • Assists in developing ongoing/continuous market and competitive analysis of the territory

  • Analyzes territory customers and sales insights to create demand and pull-through of Paslode products 

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • 2+ years of field sales experience

  • Ability to analyze data and trends to inform strategy and decisions

  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM or similar sales tools and systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle and maintain a clean driving record

  • Approximately 75% travel within the St. Louis territory (local, same-day travel) and 25% remote/home-based work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience with value-based selling

Position requires approximately 75% travel (local day trips and overnights) and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Compensation Information:

Annual base salary range for this position is$85,000 - $100,000.Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.In addition, our benefits include paid vacation, sick, holiday, and parental leave.
