Full Job Description
The Market Development Advisor supports the market's ability to execute strategic priorities, address complex operational challenges, and deliver consistent results across key initiatives. This role provides dedicated leadership and oversight for complex, high-visibility work, driving cross-functional collaboration, operational excellence, and the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

The Market Development Advisor leads and coordinates complex operational and strategic initiatives that support market development goals. This role is responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing project and operational plans; monitoring progress against established objectives; mitigating risks; resolving issues; and ensuring successful execution of key initiatives. The advisor identifies and secures resources, develops work plans, schedules, and collaborates with internal business partners and external stakeholders as needed.

The Market Development Advisor serves as a key leadership and coordination resource for highly complex, high-visibility, and cross-functional work within the market. The role provides strategic guidance, stakeholder management, and problem-solving expertise to support initiatives that span multiple business areas, helping to remove barriers, resolve challenges, drive alignment, and promote consistency across the market initiatives.

In addition to supporting defined projects, the advisor addresses emerging market needs and operational challenges that often lack a clearly defined path forward. The role brings clarity, structure, and forward momentum to ambiguous situations by identifying stakeholders, assessing dependencies and risks, defining actionable approaches, aligning efforts across teams, and driving work through resolution. The advisor connects initiative execution to broader market objectives and helps ensure operational challenges, process improvement opportunities, and strategic priorities are effectively addressed.

The Market Development Advisor prepares reports, facilitates meetings, communicates status and recommendations, establishes priorities, coordinates cross-functional efforts, and ensures achievement of key milestones and deliverables. This position exercises independent judgment on complex issues, operates with minimal supervision, and applies analytical thinking to determine effective solutions and drive business results.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in Medicaid and/or health plan operations.
  • 3+ years of experience leading large-scale projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining effective working relationships within a highly matrixed environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, navigate ambiguity, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Reside in the state of Ohio or a bordering state.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, and/or Six Sigma certification, or demonstrated experience applying project management and process improvement methodologies.
