The Market Chief Medical Officer Medicare, reports directly to the Executive Vice President Chief Medical Officer. The position is responsible for Medicare clinical leadership and execution of all health care affordability and clinical quality initiatives to achieve goals

Responsibilities:
  • Helps to lead AmeriHealth Caritas Medicare clinical programs
  • Quality initiatives to improve HEDIS and other quality ratings
  • Collaborates with the providers, community and state regulatory agencies to improve care.
  • Works with the Plan's membership and physician community and health system networks, medical/physician professional associations, government representatives, and advocacy groups to advance clinical excellence and the delivery of cost efficient care.


Work Arraignment: Remote with potential travel to Newtown Square

Education/Experience:
  • A medical degree (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Must have unrestricted licensed to practice in the state(s) assigned as a medical director/doctor and recognized by the proper licensing authority.
  • Must be Board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine
  • Must be clear of any sanctions by the applicable state or Office of the Inspector General.
  • Must not be prohibited from participating in any Federally or State funded healthcare programs.
  • Must have a minimum of (5) five years of clinical practice experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of medical management and general management experience in a managed care environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). Access is a plus.
  • Experience with Marketplace Health Insurance is preferred
