A Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing various production activities including but not limited to: planning, directing and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, department production targets and quality standards. They understand and align plant operations & production as he/she executes their role in the overall order fulfillment process to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives. In addition to planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.

Essential Duties & responsibilities:

  • Supervises and facilitates the day-to-day shift activities of team. Utilizes knowledge and experience, providing training to team members.

  • Responsible for their individual performance.

  • Oversees scheduling, material handling issues and maintenance, as well as resolving production problems.

  • Responsible for people management actions such as performance management, rewarding, training and developing employees.

  • Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment. Encourages and leads team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices.

  • Supervises entry-level, and semi-skilled hourly union employees such as production, and craft workers.

  • Ensures that product quality, production efficiency, and overall productivity meet or exceeds established standards.

  • Strives to be technically proficient on the machinery in the department.

  • Uses judgement to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.

  • Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.

  • Strives to clearly understand customer requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting employee safety requirements.

  • Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.

  • Reviews, and submits all training documentation to the department manager for review and approval

  • In conjunction with other production supervisors, ensures daily pay period completion of all timecards, and pre approval prior to submission to payroll.

  • Assist in interviewing processes as requested.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.

  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.

  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.

  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).

  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.


SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • Manufacturing Supervisor will be managing the floor on Third Shift

  • Week is Sunday through Thursday with Friday and Saturday off

  • Will consist of an 8 hour work day starting at 11 pm

  • Ability to work as requested off hours and weekends as needed


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree

  • 3-5 Years of manufacturing experience required

  • Experience in a front-line leadership position required

  • Union experience preferred but not required

  • Technical and problem solving skills.


  • Interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft office applications.

  • SAP knowledge preferred but not required

Pay Range: $72,700.00 - $96,900.00
