Manufacturing Project Manager.
Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Project Manager leads customer focused, revenue driving initiatives that grow online sales, improve the digital customer experience, and advance Rock West's eCommerce strategy. The role manages projects, coordinating with teams in San Diego and Utah, vendors, and customers to launch stock product initiatives, execute customer specific plans, and meet financial, technical, and service goals.

Essential Functions
Project & Financial Management
- Lead eCommerce composite projects from opportunity through close, defining scope, schedule, budget, risks, and KPIs to ensure on-time, profitable delivery.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and order data, monitor job cost performance, and adjust plans to protect margins.
- Complete bids and proposals in support of new business opportunities.
- Create purchase orders and vendor Statements of Work (SOWs) and align suppliers to scope, schedule, quality, and technical requirements.
Customer & eCommerce Support
- Build and execute structured customer outreach to acquire and retain high-value accounts, generate quotes, and transition won work to Program Management.
- Administer the eCommerce Loyalty Program, including eligibility tracking, tier operations, and dedicated services.
- Improve the customer experience through responsive communication, resolution of escalations and returns, and optimization of quoting, order entry, and customer service workflows.
- Collaborate on product imagery and content and support chatbot escalations involving technical customer questions.
Cross-Functional & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with Program Management, Marketing, Sourcing, Operations, and Utah counterparts, using the machine shop as a technical resource when needed.
- Apply working knowledge of composite materials and processes, including wet layup, autoclave, RTM, and compression molding, to support project and customer requirements.
- Support applicable manufacturing activities involving assembly/disassembly, contact and noncontact inspection methods, and data acquisition systems used to record temperature, vacuum, and pressure.
- Provide occasional onsite support, including travel to Tijuana for quality and engineering needs.
What You Bring
Experience
- BS/BA preferred, ideally in Engineering, a technical discipline, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment with customer-facing project ownership; composites experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects, establishing priorities, and driving tasks through completion.
- Experience with customer quoting, bids and proposals, vendor coordination, and basic machining workflows.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and basic machining workflows.
- Basic knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems and ability to follow established Quality Management System requirements.
- Ability to interpret specifications and SOWs and manage projects to cost, schedule, quality, and technical requirements.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Order Management systems, NetSuite, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Slack.
- Working knowledge of inspection methods, manufacturing equipment, and data acquisition systems.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position falls within $80,000-$110,000. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
