Full Job Description
Manufacturing Program Manager (MPM) to support our growing Hypersonics Portfolio within the Defense Sector. In this role, you will help shape manufacturing strategy and execution for critical national defense programs- Our work today supports the warfighter tomorrow!

This position serves as the primary interface between Hypersonics Program leadership and the Leidos Manufacturing organization. You will lead cross site integration efforts, drive manufacturing performance, coordinate budgets and schedules, and ensure clear communication of requirements and results. The role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations. Occasional travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities

Manufacturing Program Management & Leadership
  • Serve as the main connection between Hypersonics Program leadership and Manufacturing.
  • Lead the Hypersonics manufacturing integration team.
  • Support proposal and capture efforts for new or emerging opportunities.

Manufacturing Planning & Execution
  • Perform as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for manufacturing and test scope.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, including non-recurring planning elements.
  • Partner with site leaders and functional managers to create Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for manufacturing, testing, and supporting activities.

Cost, Schedule & Performance Management
  • Coordinate budgets with Program and Manufacturing finance teams to ensure alignment and capacity planning.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Use earned value management principles and KPIs to drive performance.
  • Provide variance analysis, rationale, and corrective actions when required.

Communication & Reporting
  • Maintain recurring cross site reviews to assess progress and address issues.
  • Provide clear manufacturing and testing updates to Program leadership.
  • Ensure a consistent and transparent communication path between Program office and Manufacturing.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 13+ years of experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving baselining, budgeting, scheduling, and performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated CAM experience on complex hardware production programs.
  • Experience coordinating activities between Program organizations and executing groups such as Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in EVMS and earned value performance reporting.
  • Experience collaborating across geographically dispersed sites or functional groups.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Huntsville/North Alabama area; ability to occasionally work outside normal business hours.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years of manufacturing management experience within Defense, Aerospace, or Commercial sectors.
  • Ability to align manufacturing operations with broader program and corporate objectives.
  • Program or Project Management experience; PMP/PMI certification a plus.
  • Background in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, DCMA requirements, and DoD Manufacturing Readiness Levels.
  • Experience leading Manufacturing Risk and Readiness assessments.
  • Familiarity with Costpoint MRP, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and AS6500.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross functional environments emphasizing safety, quality, delivery, cost, and manufacturing excellence.
  • Experience planning hardware product realization efforts.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $139,100.00 - $251,450.00
