Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Program Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of Peraton’s Remotec business.  This role requires a dynamic hands-on leader with proven experience leading a similar manufacturing and assembly business.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the business, such as facility operations, assembly processes, quality control, research and development, safety management, personnel management, business development, and financial management.  This position is required to be on-site 100% of the time in Clinton Tennessee location. This position will report directly to Peraton’s Vice President State and Local Government Business Unit.

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

Business Management and Leadership:

  • Lead a diverse team of approximately 50 members, including temp staff, production staff, functional staff, supply chain, service technicians, sales/customer service agents, and  engineers
  • Lead business development / marketing teams, support pipeline development, drive deal closure / backlog, and grow the business year to year
  • Work directly with end customers, understanding their needs, developing solutions, and managing escalations
  • Responsible for the overall financial performance of the business

Product Management and Strategy:

  • Lead the overall product management strategy and roadmaps for best-in-class UGVsWork closely with customers to understand future needs / demand and build those into our product roadmaps as appropriate
  • Propose R&D initiatives, with ROI, and lead approved efforts
  • Evaluate and propose new products / solution / markets

Production and Operations Management:

  • Oversee all production activities to ensure on-time delivery and quality of all products manufactured at facility
  • Oversee HW and SW engineering teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and process setup
  • Proven track record of exceeding production schedules / plans
  • Develop and implement production schedules, operational procedures, and standards
  • Optimize production efficiency and ensure that the facility meets its operational targets

Facility Setup and Management:

  • Lead the assembly facility, including setup of production lines, and implementation of manufacturing processes
  • Manage procurement of equipment, materials, and tooling required for the facility

Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Establish quality assurance and maintain processes to ensure the highest standards of production quality
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and production efficiency
  • Develop and enforce safety protocols and standards to maintain a safe working environment

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and environmental standards
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to operations, safety, and quality

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum sixteen (16) years of experience, may have management experience
  • Ten (10) years of experience in similar manufacturing or production management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Five (5) years’ experience utilizing MRP/ERP systems such as Global Shop
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, and safety management
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team in a non-unionized environment
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, financial, business, and organizational skills
  • Experience in developing financial and sales forecast
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Experience leading unmanned systems / ground vehicle production organizations
  • Experience supporting first responder agencies / customers
  • Experience leading a business greater than $20M / year in size
  • Master’s degree in relevant field
Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
