Manufacturing Manager, Training Systems

Company:

Boeing Global Services is looking to add a Manufacturing Manager for their Training Systems team located in Hazelwood, MO. In this role, the qualified candidate will be leading a team of highly skilled touch labor personnel assembling and delivering world-class training systems for our military customers across the defense portfolio. This leader will work with multiple stakeholders and customers across defense and services business to ensure safety, quality, cost and delivery targets are met, while providing innovative lean process improvements and developing team members.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Day to day leadership of multi-disciplined union technicians supporting flight simulator manufacturing and delivery across multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Provides regular safety, quality, cost and delivery status updates and change information to program managers, customers and manufacturing functional leadership while working with those stakeholders to determine priorities
  • Assists in capacity planning of proposal development with program management
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Identifies and manages Manufacturing-related Risks, Issues and Opportunities


Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • 1+ years of experience in LEAN manufacturing and performance metrics
  • 3+ years of experience in sheet metal, composite, machining, woodworking fabrication assembly methods and common shop practices


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree and or higher in business or technical field
  • Experience with project management: baseline establishment, earned value metrics, scheduling, configuration management, assessment of risk, opportunity, and affordability management
  • 3+ years of experience working with and/or supporting a Lean Management System such as OneBPS or others
  • Experience training on aircraft systems, components and related equipment with international personnel
  • Experience with schedule and budget management, integration of all logistics elements, customer communication
  • Experience supporting both internal and external customers across multiple disciplines
  • 1+ years of experience with the GOLD inventory system

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option. (Hazelwood, MO)
