Job Title: Manufacturing Manager (SC)

Reports to: Director of Operations

Direct Reports: Machine Repair, Senior Group Leader, Quality Manager

Duties / Responsibilities of this position:

  • Maintain and promote the L&L's Corporate Purpose and ensure that the working environment reflects our values


  • Lead efforts to provide the safest and cleanest manufacturing facility in the industry while in promoting employee safety in the production processes and activities.


  • Drive performance in the areas of safety, housekeeping, production, productivity, efficiency, customer and employee satisfaction.


  • Clearly establish and communicate the goals and objectives in these areas


  • Drive the organization to achieve the goals and objectives.


  • Ensure the customer receives quality products and services meeting or exceeding their expectations.


  • Meet financial objectives and goals by forecasting requirements, preparing and working to an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions as needed.


  • Facilitate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.


  • Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives within all assigned areas of operation.


  • 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize sustain)

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate the efficient utilization of equipment and facilities


  • Develop and build resources by recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating, compensating, rewarding, defining and assigning roles, and setting clear objectives and expectations.


  • Develop plant and equipment resources with the investment of human resource talent and/or capital investment dollars. Establish and implement staffing plan, compensation plan, and capital budget plan.


  • Work with the planning, engineering, inventory control, purchasing and maintenance managers to establish clear annual goals and plans to improve the work environment.


  • Enforce company guidelines and policies to all plant personnel in a fair and consistent manner in conjunction with the Human Resource team


  • Lead and coordinate the training efforts of group leaders and plant personnel with a goal to have a flexible workforce and motivating team


  • Develop a structure for people resources on the manufacturing floor that has clear responsibilities and expectations


  • Develop relationships cross-functionally to enable quick solutions and utilize global resources to support production/ trials whenever needed


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Human Resources, Manufacturing Management or business-related field; Master's degree and 7+ years of experience is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.


  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written


  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization


  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills


  • MRP operations experience preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment,


  • Five plus years of managing and working in teams.
