Overview
The Manufacturing Financial Analyst will support the manufacturing organization by providing accurate financial analysis, reporting, and insights that help drive cost discipline and operational decision-making. This role is ideal for an early-career analyst who is eager to learn manufacturing finance, build strong analytical foundations, learned cutting edge AI/BI tools, and develop into a trusted business partner.
Responsibilities
- Support financial planning and analysis for Manufacturing, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Assist with monthly close activities by preparing reports, reconciling actuals to forecasts, and supporting variance explanations
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations to understand cost drivers, production activity, and workforce dynamics
- Support workforce planning activities, including headcount tracking, labor cost analysis, overtime monitoring, and hiring plan reconciliation
- Assist in tracking cost reduction and efficiency initiatives to ensure savings are measurable
- Support capital planning through spend tracking, reporting, and basic business case analysis
- Help develop and maintain financial models and reporting tools linking operational inputs to financial outcomes
- Prepare financial summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Build a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting concepts, and ERP systems.
Required
- Ownership of their quality of work, curiosity, willingness to learn, and eagerness to achieve results
- 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or related analytical roles (internships included).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Foundational understanding of finance and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic financial modeling.
- Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desired
- Exposure to manufacturing, operations, or supply chain environments
- Introductory knowledge of cost accounting concepts
- Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
- Familiarity with FP&A or reporting tools (Hyperion, OneStream, Vena, Power BI, Tableau)
- SQL, Python, or data visualization experience is a plus
Additional Information
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $93,800 - $98,550/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
