Department: Engineering
Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer III serves as a senior technical leader responsible for improving manufacturing capability, driving continuous improvement, mentoring Manufacturing Engineers, and partnering cross-functionally to increase quality, efficiency, and throughput. This role leads complex process improvement initiatives while supporting production, new product introduction, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).


Key Responsibilities
•    Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
•    Mentor and develop Manufacturing Engineers through coaching, training, and technical leadership.
•    Lead and facilitate PFMEAs while coaching Engineering and Quality teams on best practices.
•    Partner with Design Engineering to improve Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and support successful product introductions.
•    Identify automation and advanced manufacturing opportunities that improve process capability and reduce cycle time.
•    Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, reduce defects, and improve process performance.
•    Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing standards, work instructions, and process documentation.
•    Lead cross-functional improvement projects with Production, Quality, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
•    Support engineering changes, validation activities, and production readiness.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
•    5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
•    Demonstrated experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, Six Sigma and PFMEA methodologies.
•    Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives without direct supervisory authority.
•    Experience collaborating with Design Engineering on DFM and process optimization.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office, Power BI, Visual Manufacturing or similar ERP/MES systems, and CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
•    Aerospace, Defense, Medical Device, Automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
•    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
