Responsibilities

  • Create, implement, and monitor process control systems for the Wax department
  • Eliminate issues causing process non-conformances and drive improvements in yield and scrap
  • Program manage process category-related scrap for all Wax operations
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and Operators to enhance training and solve process-related issues
  • Develop and maintain overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for department equipment
  • Write and revise Standard Operating Procedures and Engineering Procedures as needed.

Job Description

Position Summary:

The primary focus of the Manufacturing Engineering Lead is to lead improvement in process controls and operating efficiency in the Wax department to reduce the potential for non-conformances, operating costs and scrap. The Lead must be capable of interacting with department supervision, operators, area managers as well as Product/Process Engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Working Engineer Lead with direct ownership of all Wax processes (Core Sourcing, Core Prep, Injection, Dress and Assembly)
  • Responsible for creation, implementation, and monitoring of process control systems for the Wax department
  • Works to eliminate issues causing process non-conformances and drive improvements in yield and scrap
  • Program manages process category related scrap for all Wax operations
  • Works with Supervisor, Leads and Operators to improve training, solve non-conformance and process control issues and identify material and labor cost savings projects
  • Develops and helps maintain overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for relevant department equipment.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures and Engineering Procedures under the supervision of the Engineer, and revises routers as directed.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • Significant knowledge of investment casting process preferred
  • Experience with wax or plastic injection molding
  • Familiarity with Process Control philosophy and Equipment Uptime tracking
  • Experience with use of Statistical Capability concepts
  • Excellent Problem-Solving skills
  • Ability to Program Manage Cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in use of Microsoft Office Products (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access a plus)
