Position Overview

International Motors has an exciting new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer Senior to join our team at our Truck Specialty Center located in STX) San Antonio, TX!! The Manufacturing Engineer Sr. is responsible for working with Shop floor technicians, application engineers for new vehicle customizations. The Manufacturing Engineer develops dynamic torque tooling solutions and drives torque data collection for current products and standard launch activities in our Truck Specialty Center.

The International Motors Truck Specialty Center (TSC) located in the San Antonio Manufacturing plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. TSC department is in charge to customize International trucks based on our customer needs. This new Manufacturing Engineer Sr. also provides support to the shop floor in a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods and operation sequence (Work Instructions). Processes tasks in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Interfaces with application/sales engineers and production in coordinating the release of new truck customization and required tooling.
  • Estimates manufacturing cost, determines process standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of current product lines and new product applications.
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Works with vendors to define torque tooling and write specifications to suppliers to procure tooling and implement tools for new vehicle customization launches as well as manages projects involving controlled torque tool installations on current product changes.
  • Plans and conducts all aspects of tooling installation including timelines, procurement, design specifications, and implementation.
  • Schedules, plans, monitors, and reports out on activities and key performance indicators.
  • Works with multiple departments to complete projects and/or tasks plus manages multiple projects/tasks within the given timelines.
  • This position has a high level of visibility with San Antonio factory senior management.
  • Reviews truck customization quotes released by sales engineers and makes the appropriate changes prior to release quote for production.
  • Constant communication with TSC finance department to procure parts and to specify alternate BOM parts if required or requested
  • Manage multiple projects while supporting daily production needs
  • Hands on as our process requires to spend time in the shop floor when new pilot trucks arrives to support our team leads and technicians.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of product manufacturing experience

OR

  • Master's degree and no experience

OR

  • At least 3 years of product manufacturing experience
Additional Requirements
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
  • Experience in torque/fastening systems.

Highly preferred:

  • Mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering or any Industrial engineering degree
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting new product launches, engineering changes, and manufacturing readiness activities
