Job Description Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer (Gate 1 - Disassembly) is responsible for driving safe, efficient, and predictable execution at the front end of the engine overhaul process. This role ensures proper teardown, defect identification, and process readiness to enable downstream gates.
This position supports the repair of 160+ engines/year and 400+ modules/year, contributing to ~$1B in annual revenue. The Manufacturing Engineer provides direct technical support to 180+ shop floor personnel and is accountable for eliminating engineering-related delays, improving turnaround time (TAT), and ensuring high-quality output from disassembly.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct technical support to shop floor personnel during disassembly operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution
  • Maintain strong daily presence on the shop floor to support technicians and resolve issues in real time
  • Ensure accurate and complete defect identification and documentation during teardown to prevent downstream escapes
  • Drive high responsiveness and urgency in resolving engineering issues to ensure no impact to shop flow
  • Ensure process readiness by validating tooling, documentation, preventing disruptions to flow
  • Lead and execute Lean initiatives focused on reducing turnaround time (TAT), eliminating waste, and improving technician efficiency
  • Own and maintain work instructions, ensuring alignment with OEM manuals and actual shop floor practices
  • Drive first-time quality by ensuring defects are properly identified, documented, and communicated to downstream gates
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and tooling/vendors to support execution and continuous improvement
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues
  • Own and manage tooling and process-related projects, including budget tracking where applicable
  • Share best practices and drive standardization across shifts and builds
  • Promote and uphold EHS, Quality, Compliance, and Integrity standards across all activities


Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or MRO environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to drive issues to closure
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shop floor-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage across all levels of the organization


Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with gas turbine engines (aero-derivative preferred)
  • Strong lean manufacturing background with demonstrated impact on cycle time reduction
  • Six Sigma certification (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset and sense of urgency
  • Ability to translate engineering requirements into practical shop floor execution

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $76,300.00 and $114,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: ineligible.
