Responsibilities

  • Identify design and process improvements to minimize labor impacts
  • Participate in time studies and support plant rebalances and line speed changes
  • Maintain essential documentation such as Labor Glidepath and Plant Line speed reports
  • Drive efficiency through the implementation of global IE standards and tools

In this position...

We are seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support forward model and capacity planning studies across all program milestones, spanning both Direct and Indirect Labor in Stamping, Body, Paint, and Final assembly areas. This role is critical to driving labor efficiency, standardization, and launch readiness across our North American manufacturing footprint.

What you'll do...
  • Support forward model and capacity studies for all milestones including Direct Labor and Indirect Labor in all areas (Stamping, Body, Paint, Final)
  • Lead new model labor optimization efforts to achieve labor targets, through benchmarking (internal and
  • external), target setting, tracking process change, and replicate across programs
  • Support the cycle line layout planning process & virtual build events with future model operator allocations and
  • time studies, and work with plants to support physical build events & program launches
  • Minimize and/or offset labor impacts through labor blitzes, plant tasks/projects, and identifying design/process opportunities
  • Assist with operator allocations, cycle line layouts, plant rebalances, line speed changes, time studies, throughput issues, and launch support
  • Accurately maintain and deliver required IE documentation (Labor Glidepath, Program 1-Pager, Labor by Department, Plant Line speed, APT Assessment, etc.)
  • Develop & document standardization of methods & procedures for the organization
  • Drive & implement labor efficiency through deployment of global IE process, tools and standards
  • Work with plants to complete & evaluate time studies using MODAPTS as the measurement tool for work standards
  • Collaborate and work closely with manufacturing engineering, material handling, ergonomics, and/or plant personnel
  • Scope of responsibility may include Assembly and Stamping in North America
  • Travel domestically

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering
  • Plant Industrial Engineering & manufacturing operations experience preferred
  • Experience with MODAPTS preferred
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Work well under pressure

This position is a salary grade 5 - salary grade 8 and ranges from $65,100 -$166,200.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
