Full Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in scaling and optimizing our manufacturing operations. This individual will act as the primary point of contact for all manufacturing-related activities with one of our contract manufacturers (CM), overseeing day-to-day execution, production targets, and issue resolution. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will also lead continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements to ensure that our manufacturing capabilities can scale as we continue to grow rapidly. This role will involve close collaboration with various cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, to support the development and execution of robust manufacturing strategies. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to drive performance excellence.
Your Day to Day
  • Support Manufacturing Operations: Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for manufacturing activities with our contract manufacturer, helping ensure operations align with Bevi's production goals, quality standards, and timelines. Escalate larger issues to senior engineers and leadership.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to processes, equipment, and materials that increase manufacturing efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Use data to help pinpoint bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Participate in Problem-Solving: Support cross-functional efforts to resolve manufacturing issues, including quality defects and operational inefficiencies. Apply structured problem-solving methods to perform root cause analysis and help implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with internal teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality) and external partners (contract manufacturers, suppliers) to help ensure manufacturing processes meet Bevi's quality and production standards.
  • Support Manufacturing Scalability: Contribute to initiatives that help Bevi's manufacturing capabilities grow with the business, supporting the plans set by senior engineers and leadership.

  • Execute Product Design Changes: Help implement design changes, product refreshes, and continuous improvements on existing product lines, working with design and manufacturing teams to integrate changes into production while maintaining quality, cost, and reliability standards.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or process engineering, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Manufacturing Support: Experience supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities, ideally with contract manufacturers; helping manage design change cut ins, addressing assembly/test issues, and improving processes.
  • Process Improvement: Working knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing concepts (e.g., Six Sigma, SPC, Kaizen) and a track record of applying them to improve product quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Problem-Solving: Solid problem-solving skills, including exposure to structured methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
  • Engineering Change Management: Familiarity with engineering change management systems and processes, and the ability to help execute product and process changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to help ensure products are manufactured to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Supplier Experience: Experience working with suppliers or contract manufacturers, with an understanding of how quality and cost standards are maintained in production.
  • Data-Driven: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and measure the effectiveness of improvements.

About Bevi

Matthew Griswold Bevin is an American businessman and politician who served as the 62nd Governor of Kentucky, from 2015 to 2019. He was the third Republican elected Kentucky governor since World War II, after Ernie Fletcher and Louie Nunn. Born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Shelburne, New Hampshire, Bevin earned a bachelor's degree at Washington and Lee University in 1989, then served four years of active duty in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain. He became wealthy in the investment business and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, in 1999. He was president of Bevin Brothers Manufacturing Company, one of the last remaining American bell foundries. In 2013, Bevin announced he would challenge Kentucky's senior U.S. Senator, then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, in the 2014 Republican primary. Although Bevin gained the support of various groups aligned with the Tea Party Movement, McConnell attacked him repeatedly for inconsistencies in his public statements and policy positions and defeated him by almost 25 percentage points. After announcing he would seek the governorship in 2015, Bevin emerged from a four-way Republican primary, besting his nearest competitor by 83 votes. He then defeated the state's attorney general, Democratic nominee Jack Conway, in the general election. Bevin's gubernatorial tenure was notable for the passage of "right-to-work" legislation, laws limiting abortion access, and a law allowing carrying concealed handguns without permits. He also attempted to reverse Kentucky's Medicaid expansion and to reduce teacher pensions.
