AAA USA is actively hiring experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace, defense, transportation, industrial, and advanced manufacturing programs nationwide. We are seeking hands-on engineering professionals who can work directly with production teams to improve manufacturing methods, solve build issues, optimize processes, and support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing engineering experience with the ability to independently manage day-to-day process improvements while recognizing when more complex or higher-risk decisions require support from senior engineering leadership. This is an excellent opportunity to join long-term manufacturing programs offering competitive pay, career growth, and opportunities to work with advanced production technologies and complex manufacturing systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Work directly with mechanics, technicians, and production personnel to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
  • Improve manufacturing methods, processes, ergonomics, work content, and production flow within assigned manufacturing areas.
  • Analyze build sequences and develop practical, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Use CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation to understand design intent and identify opportunities to improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings, models, work instructions, process documentation, and other manufacturing engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure manufacturing changes remain traceable to engineering requirements and maintain required fit, form, function, quality, and configuration control.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and recommend design or process improvements to improve production efficiency and reduce manufacturing issues.
  • Develop and present engineering recommendations and design-change proposals to Design Engineering and manufacturing leadership.
  • Support initiatives focused on reducing labor hours, production costs, rework, scrap, and manufacturing cycle time.
  • Support tooling definition, fixture requirements, process development, and production equipment improvements.
  • Assist with ERP and manufacturing system alignment, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation, routings, work content, and production data.
  • Identify root causes of manufacturing problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, and suppliers to resolve manufacturability and production issues.
  • Support supplier manufacturability reviews and resolution of production-related issues.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable quality, safety, engineering, and customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or complex assembly.
  • Strong hands-on understanding of machining, sheet metal, welding, composites, and mechanical or electrical assembly, with depth in at least one area and working knowledge across others.
  • Strong CAD proficiency and fluency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with DFM analysis and manufacturing-specific documentation, or strong aptitude and willingness to build this capability.
  • Working ERP experience such as Epicor or SAP, including eBOM/mBOM reconciliation and routings.
  • Credibility on the shop floor, good judgment, root-cause problem solving, and a track record of following through on assigned work.
