Position: Manufacturing Engineer 2
JOB TYPE: W2, Onsite, Full-time contract (12 months)
Location: Pontiac, IL
Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Compensation: Up to $39-$42
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations and process improvement efforts within a leading global heavy equipment manufacturer.
This role is highly hands-on and will focus on manufacturing process optimization, troubleshooting, and validation in a fast-paced industrial environment.
You'll work closely with production and quality teams to improve efficiency, validate processes, and support daily operations on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity
• Conduct time studies and evaluate production methods, workflows, and cycle times
• Troubleshoot issues directly on the shop floor and support daily operations
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Validate new processes, prototypes, and production changes (PCNs)
• Prepare reports, charts, and diagrams to communicate workflow and process improvements
• Monitor equipment usage and ensure operations meet quality standards
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and optimize performance
• Analyze production data and provide recommendations for improvement
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 5-7 years of relevant manufacturing experience
• Experience in manufacturing or machining environments
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Experience with process improvement, validation, or production support
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience with CAD or engineering-related software
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in heavy manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments
• Background in process optimization, time studies, or continuous improvement
• Experience working closely with shop-floor operations
Work Environment: • Onsite manufacturing facility (office + shop floor)
• 70% shop floor, 30% office work
• Hands-on, fast-paced production environment
• High collaboration with production and quality teams
