Job Description :
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) team responsible for launching new vehicle, powertrain, and battery programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing facilities, tooling, processes, and equipment are ready to successfully build the next generation of vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Automation within an automotive manufacturing environment. This position requires a hands-on engineer who can lead launch activities, resolve manufacturing issues, coordinate cross-functional teams, and support tooling installation and commissioning efforts.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new vehicle and component launches.
  • Evaluate product designs for manufacturing feasibility using virtual engineering tools.
  • Support development of facility, tooling, and equipment requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Development to improve quality and reduce manufacturing complexity.
  • Create, maintain, and update manufacturing process documentation and cycle line layouts.
  • Identify, track, and resolve manufacturing feasibility, tooling, and launch-related issues.
  • Manage tooling design, build, installation, startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Support equipment buy-offs and validation activities at supplier facilities.
  • Drive resolution of assembly, automation, tooling, and process concerns during launch.
  • Capture lessons learned and implement preventive actions into future programs.
  • Partner with Product Development, Logistics, Quality, Suppliers, and Operations teams.
  • Support Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
  • Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting automotive assembly, machining, tooling, automation, or production facilities.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects within aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willingness to travel extensively as required for launch support.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical Controls Engineering experience.
  • Experience with PLCs, sensors, industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing controls systems.
  • New model launch experience within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting one or more of the following systems:
    • Electrical Systems
    • Powertrain
    • Chassis
    • Interior
    • Exterior
    • Battery Cell Manufacturing
    • Battery Assembly
    • Stator/Rotor Manufacturing
    • End-of-Line Operations
    • Water Test Operations
  • Knowledge of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance methodologies.
  • Experience with CATIA, Teamcenter, VisMockup, or similar 3D CAD review tools.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, process control, statistics, and manufacturing quality tools.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, E2KS, AIM, or CPARS.
