The Managing Director, Regional Planning & Strategy will lead the team responsible for the successful execution of American Airlines' regional carriers, including three wholly owned carriers (PSA, Piedmont and Envoy) and three affiliate carriers (Republic, SkyWest, Air Wisconsin). Will work in coordination with the Regional Operations teams.

  • Leads the team supporting our wholly owned regional carriers and regional affiliates in all areas of their short-term planning, long-term planning, customer experience, and technology
  • Collaborates with Regional carriers on process improvement projects, strategic initiatives, and technology projects
  • Leads strategic planning related to near and long-term supportability, including frontline team members, real estate, and fleet planning
  • Engages with internal partners in Network Planning, Operations Planning & Performance, Customer Experience, Flight, Flight Service, IOC, IT, Fleet Planning, and Finance on any project related to the American Eagle portfolio
  • Maintains relationships and lead negotiations with American's regional carrier partners via regular communication and coordination with leaders of those organizations

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Planning, Aeronautics or related area or equivalent experience/training
  • 10 years of leadership experience managing cross-departmental teams
  • Previous experience in the regional operation a plus
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in adjusting to shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment, while effectively modeling leadership attributes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to handle complex topics successfully and to interact effectively with all levels, both verbally and written
