Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our Warehouse Operations team based in Grand Prairie, TX.
Your duties will consist of planning, organizing and providing managerial direction to personnel performing receiving, stocking, picking, packing and shipping of materials. This includes planning, distribution of labor, inventory control, production control training, problem resolution, exporting functions and customer service. Also, will assist and lead practical problem solving, issue resolution, continuous improvement activities and processes management to provide operational excellence and being resolution to operational and procedural concerns.
Your challenges:
Daily Activities: 40%
Ensure that all warehousing and distribution functions in Texas provide a best in class service to internal and external customers.
Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, FAA, ATF, Environmental, Customs, and all other regulations.
Monitor and report on performances metrics to senior leaders to ensure the accomplishment of company goals and activities supporting our customers.
Develop and manage department budgets to minimize expenses and optimize cost savings concepts. Coordinate and track operational expense. Compile and prepare budget analysis and report results.
Recommend to management plans of action regarding the proper handling of materials with specific handling requirements, i.e. explosives, hazardous materials, shelf-life items, etc.
Insure that accurate shipments are completed within established priority standards to meet customer expectations and requirements.
Ensure productivity and accountability from assigned warehouse staff.
Lead problem resolution efforts and recommend plans of actions to prevent them from happening again.
Delegate standard daily scheduling and monitoring tasks to Leads.
Personnel Management: 20%
Monitor individual and team performance to ensure maximum efficiencies are met and individual performance is measured fairly and the same across functions.
Encourage the engagement of the team members and teams.
Recognize good performance, correct performance concerns.
Train and develop department staff inclusive of completion and proper execution of work procedures to ensure coverage is available when needed.
Direct the development of personnel within the organization. Develop on-boarding and ongoing training plans to ensure staff is adequately trained to perform the required tasks as well as ensuring individuals are developed and grow within the organization.
Forecast manpower and equipment required to meet business needs.
Insure after-hours and weekend support is available to respond to AOG and other critical requirements.
Conduct periodic performance evaluations; make recommendations for promotion, salary changes, transfers, hiring and corrective actions to include terminations.
Ensure all employees follow workplace safety requirements and address any workplace safety issues or concerns.
Interdepartmental Coordination: 20%
Coordinate with internal and external organizations to ensure best in class support of internal and external customers.
Support US Customs and Foreign Trade Zone teams ensuring all transactions are closed or reconciled daily in accordance with company policy and US Import Regulations.
Continuous Improvement: 20%
Lead process improvement projects to support the warehouse excellence roadmap. Develop, implement, and improve processes and procedures that ensure accurate and effective operations.
Design, develop and implement new material handling concepts to increase efficiency and optimize our current operations.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred
Degree or certification in Supply Chain related field
Experience:
Required
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in distribution, inventory control or related function
Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading and developing teams
Preferred
Five years of leadership experience
Prior SAP or similar ERP/WM
Licensure/Certifications:
Required
Must have, or be willing to obtain, certification in shipping hazardous materials, both IATA and DOT
Preferred
Any warehousing, distribution, or planning related certifications

Onsite or remote: 100%
Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Daily
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. Daily
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Not Expected
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
