The Raytheon Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Controllership team has an opening for a Manager Technical Accounting supporting the ASDS Strategic Business Unit. The role includes assessment activities supporting revenue and bookings reported by the business.

Responsibilities include review of new contracts in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies for revenue recognition timing and method, review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages, and application of finance policies and procedures to business activities. Additional responsibilities include support of special projects, offset accounting assessments, audit activities, and training activities.

Relocation assistance available, provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.

What You Will Do
  • Technical Accounting point of contact for the Raytheon ASDS Strategic Business Unit
  • Assessment of new awards for revenue recognition, timing of booking, and identification of performance obligations in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
  • Review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages for long-term contracts
  • Application of U.S. GAAP and company policies to finance activities
  • Participation in technical accounting projects including policy harmonization, data analysis, system testing, and process improvement activities
  • Support of external and internal audit activities, including ad-hoc requests, quarterly reviews, and annual audit procedures
  • Support of internal controls activities and execution of assigned controls in coordination with the SBU Assistant Controller
  • Documentation of accounting judgments and assessments in formal white papers
  • Documentation of Offset Project Accounting memoranda


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Working experience with SAP and/or APEX and/or similar system
  • Working experience with MS Office tools, especially Excel
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
  • Experience with IT systems including data warehouses and ERP software
  • Working experience in accounting, audit, or program finance in industry or public accounting environments
  • Experience with financial reporting software
  • Interaction with stakeholders in team and matrix organization environments
  • Preparation of written documentation and communication of accounting information in verbal and written formats
  • Application of financial accounting concepts in accounting or finance activities
  • Execution of assigned work activities in a matrix organization environment
  • Experience reviewing contracts or agreements for accounting treatment
  • Experience researching transactions under U.S. GAAP or company policies
  • Experience preparing or reviewing Estimates at Complete (EACs)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
