Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our Integrated Logistics (ILS) team provides end-to-end integrated logistics solutions designed, deployed, and executed to support Caterpillar92s global footprint of manufacturing plants, suppliers, distribution centers and dealers. Capabilities include:
- Packaging Design and Returnable Container Management
- Inbound International and Domestic Transportation
- Logistics Network Operations 96 including Manufacturing Parts Nodes, Site Logistics and Cross Dock Operations
- Outbound Logistics 96 International and Domestic: Specialized Cargo and Product Distribution Solutions
- Customs Operations 96 Ensuring shipment velocity (across international borders) while complying with import and export regulations throughout the world
As the Manager Supply Chain, you are responsible for leading the Supply Chain function for the Manufacturing Parts Network (MPN), with accountability for activities across the Americas. MPN is a global network comprised of 700 (plus) manufacturing operations serving as our internal customers, 2000 (plus) suppliers, and 7 logistics centers. MPN provides the solution for small parts critical to making and selling Caterpillar products to manufacturing locations as well as Aftermarket parts.

What You Will Do:
- Accountable for the supply base to MPN in the Americas
- Accountable for service to our manufacturing base in the region
- Supply chain facility support to the Midwest, South East, South West and Brazil Logistic Centers
- Provides leadership and direction to supply chain team responsible for the management of the Manufacturing Parts Network (MPN) supply functions
- Create a competitive advantage for our customers and the enterprise by developing, optimizing, and integrating the supply base, while delivering local service excellence
- Supply chain span-of-control includes supply chain processes, planning, material requirements, inventory management, demand and orders management, and supply chain performance
- Provides input to MPN goals and strategy development.Accountable for development of the supply chain organizational design, key enterprise inventory metrics, point-of-use material availability via On-Time-In-Lines (OTIL), and reduction of cash-to-cash cycle time
- Ensures production schedules provide proper availability to customers while balancing supply constraint issues
- Accountable for supply chain performance improvements including supplier performance.Works closely with relevant functional areas and assigns resources to supply chain performance improvement projects
- Manages department resources, providing focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports.This position is responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring department resources.Responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports, including development, capability building and succession planning.Leads effort to improve communications and align across all functions
- Responsible for departmental budget and cost management and driving projects to improve overall cost-to-serve
- Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time
What You Have (Basic Requirements):
Education Requirement: Bachelor92s degree related to Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, or other related fields
Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling logistical processes.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads.
Cross-Team Integration: Understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.
What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):
- 5 (plus) years of supply chain or related experience with both manufacturing and distribution networks in a global network serving global customers
- Direct leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution network
- Knowledge and experience with Lean/6 Sigma driving RCCA and FMEA analysis on business processes
- Ability to translate strategic vision to actionable performance
- Ability to use Microsoft Office 365 tools like PowerBI to drive network visibility and improvement
- Experience using cloud-based supply chain planning systems across a global network
- APICS CPIM or CSCP Certification
- Knowledge of and experience with transportation processes and systems like GT Nexus, GTOC, etc.
- Budgetary experience including P&L management
- Prior experience working in the MPN organization is a plus
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to use these skills to drive team performance improvements
- Develop and deploy creative/original solutions to complex problems

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
