What does this role look like?

The manager of strategy communications leads a high performing team to create and execute integrated internal and external messaging that advances Lockheed Martin Space's strategic priorities and long term business goals. The role provides direct executive communications support to the Space President and ensures cohesive, enterprise wide storytelling that aligns business and cultural objectives across audiences.

In this role, you'll partner with senior leadership and communications colleagues to shape the internal and external narratives that drive critical business growth, including financial communications, innovation and technology storylines, company performance and strategic pursuits. This role offers high visibility, cross-functional collaboration and the opportunity to lead a talented communications team in a fast moving, high impact environment.

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:
Team Leadership- Manage and mentor a small team of advisors to develop and execute integrated communications, executive messaging, media relations and storytelling.
President Positioning- Design and deliver the Space President's positioning for internal and external priorities.
Narrative Development- Craft overarching, proactive narratives that drive awareness and action across audiences.
Cross Functional Collaboration - Partner with Space and Lockheed Martin Communications teammates to align enterprise priorities.
Employee & Executive Communications- Produce internal assets (webcasts, memos, talking points), provide executive communications counsel and collaborate on employee communications strategies.
Media Relations- Build proactive media stories and relationships with journalists, analysts and influencers.
Stakeholder Alignment - Work closely with the Space President, CFO, Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, and other senior leaders.
Metrics & Improvement- Define KPIs, monitor performance, and refine strategies based on data.

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.

Basic Qualifications

To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Communications, PR, Marketing, or Journalism
• 8+ years relevant experience in Communications
• Proven ability to develop and execute integrated communications plans across multiple channels and platforms
• High quality strategic communication skills; including ability to deliver strong written, verbal, and presentation that effectively communicate business cases to all levels including executive leadership
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in translating corporate strategy into compelling messaging
• Ability to travel within the United States ~ 20 percent of the time.

• Strong interpersonal skills; adept at building relationships, coaching and providing constructive feedback at all levels
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time, effectively managing a heavy workload independently and without close supervision
• Formal or informal team leadership experience
• Familiarity with financial communications
• Employee and executive communications experience for large, complex organizations
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Experience in aerospace and defense and/or high-tech industries

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $106,100 - $187,105. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
