Summary

The Manager, Operations Is responsible and accountable for all activities related to the operations and development of company objectives In the Yard, VPC, and QC by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Compensation: $75,000-$90,000/Year

Responsibilities
• Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental operations through the precision of effective methods and strategies.
• Coordinates vehicle processing and logistics activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
• Reviews rroduction and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operationa delays.
• Reports to the SR Manager or General Manger on dally operational matters and issues.
• Works with internal and external customers to ensure Glovis meets or exceeds customer expectations.
• Ensures management and leadership are compliant with company activities associated with the effective management of shop operations includlng compiling, storing and retrieving production data reports.
• Ensure company training programs and policies are In place and ensures compliance with company, government and customer policies, procedures and regulations.
• Responds to inquiries from all customers, Internal and external.
• Frequent and effective communication with direct reports and members of the management team is critical.
• Daily communications and collaboration with the management team to ensure synergy exists between all departments.
• Monitors process quality issues at all phases of vehicle processing
• Monitors/evaluates quality of all processes and procedures of VPC operations.
• Analyzes quality data to develop countermeasures to correct process deficiencies.
• Creates and changes departmental processes for continuous process Improvement activities.
• Manage and direct all activities related to all port operations.
• Ensure all daily plans are determined and communicated to all relevant departments.
• Ensure the plans will effectively accomplish company objectives.
• Assign responsibilities to appropriate supervisors and team members.
• Monitor and adjust activities/operations as needed.
• Create/review/execute production and operating procedures and targets to ensure minimum cost and to prevent production delays.
• Ensures employees are trained to and comply with company, government and customer policies, procedures and regulations.
• Develops, maintains, and monitors the production business plans for operations.

Skills

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Associates Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7-10 years of direct operational knowledge and proven leadership skills in a production/manufacturing, logistics industry
  • 4-7 supervisory experience required
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License
