Full Job Description
Join Aprio's Audit team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Manager, Securitization and Structured Products Services to join their dynamic team.

Aprio's Structured Products Group is a specialized team of capital markets and accounting professionals that provide assurance and advisory services for a critical element of structured finance bond issuance. The team delivers Agreed Upon Procedures (AUP) and other reports, principally for new-issue asset backed securities and securitizations. The team works with a national network of lenders, investment banks, and asset managers.

The Structured Products ABS modeler is responsible for the independent modeling of each AUP engagement: recreating asset and bond (liability) cash flows using modeling assumptions and the payment waterfall from the offering documents and legal agreements and helping to identify and explain any discrepancies.

You will work closely with Aprio's principals, partners, managing directors, and the broader Structured Products team to network, educate, and collaborate on deal execution. The ideal candidate has deep experience in ABS modeling within a structured products team at a nationally recognized accounting firm.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Model and recalculate cash flows - independently rebuild asset and liability (bond) cash flows for ABS transactions, reverse-engineering the payment waterfall from offering documents and legal agreements. Recreate and analyze customized investor scenarios and interface with the investment bank to discuss the results.
  • Analyze the collateral - perform loan pool analysis, collateral stratification, and legal document review to support each AUP report.
  • Tie out the results - review model output, identify discrepancies, and help explain them so the report ties out accurately before closing.
  • Deliver as a team - work with teammates on all aspects of the AUP report creation and delivery process, coordinating with internal and external parties.
  • Run the modeling workstream - manage the modeling on a live deal, including client communication and the timing of deliverables.
  • Improve how the work gets done - help develop and refine workflow processes, including documenting procedures to support efficient, accurate deliverables.
  • Communicate clearly - verbally and in writing, with clients and with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; CPA, MBA, or master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in securitization, structured products, or asset management
  • Hands-on cash flow modeling experience, ideally including AUP or payment-date verification work; strong Excel skills, with VBA, python, or another programming language a plus.
  • Strong technical background, including an in-depth understanding of one or more of the following asset classes: asset-backed securities (ABS), residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), and esoteric or similar securitized and structured products.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of an organization and to present complex information clearly to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects, and to meet tight and changing deadlines, in a rapidly growing practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Limited travel, including attending industry conferences as needed.
