Department/Unit Summary
Manages daily departmental operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities while supporting the development of departmental standards and objectives. Oversees staff performance, scheduling, development, recruitment, payroll, and engagement, fostering a positive and growth-oriented work environment. Ensures regulatory compliance, budget oversight, vendor and contract management, and the effective procurement and maintenance of systems, equipment, and supplies. Coordinates and evaluates patient care delivery using evidence-based practices, collaborating with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments, and providing direct patient care as needed.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
BLS certification is required.
Prefer National Board Certification in Nephrology Nursing and/or Nursing Leadership within 2 years if not achieved upon hire.
5 yearsexperience in an acute care facility preferred.
3 years of charge/leadership experience required.
Additional minimal clinical experience of 6 months of direct patient care in dialysis as explained in in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), that governs public health in the United States. CFR Title 42 specifically addresses public health, covering a wide range of regulations that include requirements that the manager of the acute dialysis unit will have a minimum of 6 monthsdirect dialysis experience to perform in the role of manager.
