Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Manager, Risk & Requirements Management in Raritan, NJ, West Chester, PA, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Raynham, MA, Warsaw, IN.

This role serves as a technology product owner and risk leader within R&D Technology, accountable for translating business and scientific needs into clear, prioritized technology requirements while proactively identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk. The Manager partners closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and IT teams to ensure technology solutions are compliant, scalable, and aligned to DePuy Synthes' product development and innovation roadmap. This role has a meaningful impact on speedtomarket, quality, and compliance across R&D digital capabilities and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end-to-end product backlog for assigned R&D technology platforms, ensuring alignment to business priorities and regulatory requirements.


  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation, partnering with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and IT stakeholders to translate needs into functional and technical requirements.


  • Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms, accelerating product development, improving scientific and engineering insights, and strengthening end to end decision making while enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient R&D operations from discovery through lifecycle management.


  • Establish and maintain risk management frameworks, including identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and monitoring of technology and delivery risks.


  • Drive prioritization decisions by balancing value, risk, cost, and delivery timelines across multiple initiatives.


  • Ensure adherence to SDLC, quality standards, validation practices, privacy, and security requirements relevant to R&D systems.


  • Partner with delivery teams using Agile and hybrid methodologies to ensure timely, high-quality solution delivery.


  • Provide clear communication and reporting on roadmap progress, risks, and dependencies to senior stakeholders.


  • Mentor and guide analysts and product team members, fostering strong product ownership and risk-aware decision making.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required (Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field)


  • Master's degree or MBA preferred


Experience and Skills

Required:

  • 6-8 years of experience in technology product ownership, business analysis, or IT project/program management, including R&D or regulated environments.


  • Experience translating business needs into system requirements, managing product backlogs, and supporting SDLC and system validation activities.


  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, document, and mitigate technology and delivery risks.


  • Strong stakeholder management, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities across cross-functional teams.


  • Ability to lead without authority, influence outcomes, and coach team members in product and risk best practices.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting.


Preferred:

  • Experience supporting R&D, Quality, Regulatory, or clinical systems within a medical device or life sciences environment.


  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models in enterprise technology organizations.


  • Experience with data-driven decision making, dashboards, or portfolio reporting.


  • Prior people leadership or matrix team leadership experience.


  • Product Owner, Business Analysis, or Project Management certifications (e.g., CSPO, PMI-PBA, PMP) preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 - $204,000.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
