As the organization continues to strengthen its Business Risk & Control function, we are seeking a Manager, Risk & Compliance. Reporting to the Director, Compliance, you will provide independent oversight, challenge, and advisory support to the Global Capabilities Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. Acting as a trusted risk and compliance partner, you will help enable business objectives while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and enterprise risk management standards.

In this role, you will collaborate with leaders across Canada and India to identify, assess, and mitigate operational and regulatory risks. You will provide expert guidance on regulatory obligations, promote effective risk management practices, and support a strong culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement. Through your leadership and subject matter expertise, you will influence business decisions, strengthen governance practices, and contribute to the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

What you will do

  • Monitor, interpret, and assess emerging and existing regulatory requirements and industry developments, providing timely guidance on potential business impacts and required actions.
  • Provide independent oversight, challenge, and advisory support to business leaders regarding regulatory obligations, operational risk management, internal controls, and compliance practices.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and ethical decision-making through stakeholder engagement, education, and coaching.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of risk management and compliance controls, identifying potential gaps and recommending practical remediation strategies.
  • Support the identification, assessment, escalation, and monitoring of regulatory, operational, conduct, and reputational risks.
  • Partner with stakeholders on strategic initiatives, business transformation activities, process improvements, and change programs to ensure risk and compliance considerations are incorporated effectively.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and provide guidance regarding appropriate controls, governance requirements, and mitigation strategies for projects and business initiatives.
  • Prepare and present risk and compliance reporting, analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and functional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and time zones to support consistent application of risk and compliance standards.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and prioritization support to team members while contributing to the overall development of risk and compliance capabilities within the organization.


What you will bring

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Law, Compliance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, governance, legal, or related financial services functions.
  • Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, industry standards, and regulatory guidance within a financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management principles, governance frameworks, and internal control environments.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, communicate, and address business risks and control gaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and provide effective challenge at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance risk management and business objectives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and managing relationships across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
  • High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Power BI, governance, risk and compliance (GRC) platforms, data analytics tools, or reporting solutions is considered an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $96,200.00 - $146,200.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
