Job Summary

Vista Health System is seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager of Revenue Cycle to oversee the effective and efficient operations of our Business Office and Patient Financial Services departments. This includes leadership over Patient Accounting, Patient Registration, Emergency Room Registration, PBX, and Accounts Receivable Management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal days in accounts receivable, minimizing bad debt, ensuring accurate billing and collections, and driving strong cash flow performance to support the facility's financial health.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily operations across all revenue cycle sub-departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee billing and collections to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely cash flow.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of third-party and self-pay receivables.
  • Monitor and improve key financial performance indicators, including A/R days, denial rates, and cash collections.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff performance; manage hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and quality initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare productivity reports and analyze performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and payer requirements.
  • Demonstrate and promote the organization's Community Cares Program and Standards of Behavior, including AIDET communication practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, leadership, and external partners such as payers and vendors.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Hospital Administration required.
  • In lieu of degree, a high school diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of business office experience will be considered.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare receivables within a hospital setting.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience leading revenue cycle or business office teams.

Skills:
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with hospital billing systems, payer requirements, and revenue cycle processes.
