Primary Function of Position

The Revenue Accounting Manager will serve as a key leader in the modernization and transformation of Intuitive's revenue accounting function. The role will focus on leading strategic initiatives, including rebate program enhancements, revenue systems implementations, process automation efforts and other cross-functional projects that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and enable future growth. This individual will translate accounting requirements into scalable business processes and technology solutions while partnering across Finance, Commercial, and IT organizations.

The manager will also provide leadership and support for critical revenue accounting operations, including the monthly and quarterly financial close, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Company policy and U.S. GAAP.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic initiatives that enhance the scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Company's revenue accounting processes, systems, and controls.
  • Serve as the Revenue Accounting lead on major cross-functional projects, including rebate program initiatives, revenue systems implementations, process automation efforts, and other business transformation activities.
  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Commercial Operations, IT, Customer Finance, and other stakeholders to design and implement sustainable business processes and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Translate complex accounting requirements into practical system designs, business requirements, process flows, controls, and user acceptance testing strategies.
  • Drive project execution from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, deployment, stabilization, and operational adoption.
  • Evaluate the accounting implications of new business models, commercial programs, system changes, and strategic initiatives, including the application of ASC 606 and ASC 842 where applicable.
  • Support internal and external audit activities related to revenue processes, system implementations, and key accounting judgments.
  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process by overseeing select revenue accounting activities, reviewing key analyses, and assisting with the resolution of complex accounting matters.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate complex accounting, system, and process matters effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive public accounting and relevant industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational accounting close activities and reviewing complex account analyses.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, process transformation, or finance technology projects.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning and related financial systems.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize cross-functional work, manage competing priorities, identify risks, and drive timely decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters in clear business language.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-design skills, with a practical and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships, lead through influence, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week.

Required Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Big Four experience preferred
  • Experience with lease accounting under ASC 842
  • Experience with lease accounting systems is a plus
  • Experience with SAP
