Full Job Description
As a Manager, Reliability in our operations organization, you will lead efforts to improve asset reliability, operational performance, and overall equipment effectiveness across the site to help keep facilities running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will use data, reliability insights, and cross-functional collaboration to support a strong culture of safety in a complex industrial environment. You will coach other engineers, align reliability priorities to strategy, and help teams navigate change in a fast-moving environment.

At Phillips 66, Lead Forward is our leadership approach. It defines how leaders show up, make decisions, and support their teams while delivering results in a complex, fast changing environment. Leaders at this level focus on setting clear direction, building trust, and helping their teams succeed. You're expected to act with integrity, make timely and thoughtful decisions, and take ownership of outcomes while supporting collaboration across teams. This role is about leading people well, even when priorities change or the path forward isn't always clear.

What You'll Do
  • Lead reliability-focused teams and initiatives that improve asset performance and operational effectiveness, setting clear direction that links day-to-day work to broader business strategy.
  • Coach and develop team members, modeling integrity, giving direct feedback, and scaling strong leadership practices so teams are engaged, accountable, and performing at a high level.
  • Oversee reliability performance for your area, taking ownership for identifying risks, improving asset health, and supporting safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Drive a strong health, safety, and environmental culture by monitoring performance and behaviors, addressing gaps quickly, and removing barriers so teams can work safely and raise concerns.
  • Use data, key performance indicators, and reliability insights to make sound decisions that improve equipment performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and strengthen long-term asset health.
  • Partner across operations, engineering, and other functions to align reliability priorities, coordinate activities, standardize work practices, and ensure smooth cross-functional handoffs.
  • Lead your teams through change and ambiguity by translating strategy into clear plans, anticipating risks, adjusting course as conditions shift, and keeping people informed and focused on what matters most.
  • Develop and present reliability strategies and business cases that align with site and enterprise priorities, using financial and quantitative analysis to support investment decisions and secure needed resources.
  • Champion continuous improvement in reliability processes and workflows by applying structured problem-solving and feedback from the field to simplify work, improve quality, and sustain results.

What You'll Bring - Required
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent

  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 5%
    • Operate company vehicle on site premises and/or public roads up to 5%
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
    • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
    • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
    • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
    • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal. Some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred
  • 6 years of experience planning, managing, and organizing teams or supervisors within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading engineers in an operations or reliability setting, with a track record of building cohesive, high-performing teams
  • Experience in a large, complex industrial facility with a strong focus on equipment reliability and health, safety, and environmental performance
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, key performance indicators, and financial analysis to shape reliability strategies and investment decisions
  • Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives that improve asset reliability, safety, and cost performance
  • Professional certifications or formal training in reliability, maintenance, or asset management
  • Working knowledge in reliability tools such as root cause analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, GE APM software, and Asset Strategies
