Responsibilities

Facilitates and manages the admissions and discharge to and from the Acute Inpatient Rehab unit. Ensures documentation in patient’s medical records is accurate, detailed and supports all CMS guidelines for admission and reimbursement. The position involves acting as liaison between other hospitals, the physician, staff, and rehabilitation unit to facilitate the admissions process for internal and external referrals. Functions as a vital member of the interdisciplinary team. Is knowledgeable and stays abreast of Medicare regulations affecting the Inpatient rehabilitation facility so appropriate reimbursement can be realized. Educates and ensures staff is knowledgeable in accurate Quality Indicator assessment and documentation. Audits charts to ensure competency with reimbursement guidelines. Evaluates and works to improve outcome measurements. Participates in performance improvement activities. Responsible for the coordinated efforts of the Rehab staff as they interface with the hospital’s patients, departments, programs and physicians in a manner that is safe, efficient, cost-effective, while maintaining compliance to state, federal and professional standards. The Manager for Rehabilitation Services is responsible for hiring, training and supervising the Rehabilitation staff. The Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining Rehabilitation Services Programs to meet the identified needs of the community. The Manager is administratively responsible for the management of fiscal and personnel resources in Rehabilitation Services.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1. Graduate from an approved school of physical therapy with a BS or BA degree OR2. Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy OR3. .Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelors in speech therapy required.4. MS Degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.5. Five years of clinical practice with supervisory experience.6. Licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of state OR.7. Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license OR8. Licensed by the current state in Speech-Language Pathology 9. BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current.10. National Board for Certification Occupational Therapy Certification, AOTA and OTAC preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $93,725 to $135,200 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
