Responsibilities

  • Maintain staffing levels through recruitment, development, supervision, and productivity management of rehabilitation staff.
  • Manage daily operations of rehabilitation services with support from rehabilitation managers.
  • Improve financial performance by effective planning and achieving operational and capital budget goals.
  • Oversee performance improvement and customer service programs for the department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies in departmental practices.
  • Provide clinical direction and direct patient care services as needed.
  • Develop, plan, implement, and assess strategic programs to enhance service quality and viability.
  • Market and promote rehabilitation services to customer groups and the community.
  • Foster professional development for self and team members.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing for the department through rehabilitation staff recruitment, development, supervision and productivity management.
  • Manages daily operations of all rehabilitation services with the assistance of rehabilitation managers.
  • Works to improve financial performance of department including effective planning and meeting operational and capital budget targets.
  • Responsible for department performance improvement/CQI programs including customer service for all groups served by the department.
  • Ensures department's policies and practices meet all current applicable regulatory requirements (State licensure, HCFA, JCAHO, etc.) and hospital policies.
  • Provides clinical direction for the department's rehabilitation services, including direct patient care, if needed.
  • Responsible for program development including planning, implementation and assessment of strategic plan to improve quality and viability of services.
  • Actively promotes and markets services to all customer groups and within the community.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the professional development of self and others.
  • Effectively communicates and coordinates services with internal and external customers.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Required - 5 years total work experience, 3 of which are in one of the clinical service areas provided by the Rehabilitation department.
  • Required - Graduation from accredited school of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology or Nursing.
  • Required - Possession of valid Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or Registered Nurse license to practice in Virginia.
  • Required - AHA CPR for healthcare providers
  • Preferred - In addition to the above, will possess advanced education, training, or experience in health care management or administration
