Job Summary:The Manager, Reflector Production is a leader responsible for the manufacturing of all NSI-MI compact range reflector products. This role owns the full manufacturing lifecycle of these products - Leading reflector manufacturing including fabrication, precision machining, finishing, verification, and installation. Build a reflector manufacturing team to deliver large, high accuracy reflectors with predictable cost, schedule, and quality.
The Manager, Reflector Production serves as a key member of the manufacturing team, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Business Development, Programs and Marketing to ensure technical excellence and predictable execution to support NSI-MI's advanced RF, antenna measurement, and test solutions portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:Product & Business Ownership
- Own the Compact Range Reflector product line across its manufacturing lifecycle.
- Oversee Reflector Production including machine and systems assembly, reflector fabrication, machining, finishing operations and assembly. Manage personnel, facilities and equipment as required to achieve production quality, cost and schedule goals.
- Work with production planners to develop and maintain production schedules and proper inventory levels.
- Manage and coordinate the personnel, materials and equipment resources to accomplish the project schedules.
- Focus on improvements in product quality, in production efficiency, and in reducing shop and field assembly lead times.
- Lead design discussions to improve the quality and manufacturability of the product design.
- Monitor material and supply inventories through computer information systems and physical methods.
- Interact with Quality and Engineering on matters of product quality and vendor delivered quality.
- Measure progress by improvements in the established standards of performance.
- Recognize and solve problems affecting production including quality, cost, schedules, staff, and order of production line balance performance, cost, schedule, manufacturability, and installation constraints.
Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Provide senior guidance on design of all reflector architectures.
- Ensure surface accuracy, tolerance control, structural stability, and alignment integrity.
- Enforce disciplined manufacturing practices. Provide guidance for configuration control and engineering change management.
Manufacturing, Metrology & Verification
- Lead precision machining, fabrication, and assembly operations.
- Own metrology strategy, surface measurement, and alignment verification.
- Understand the physical and optical measurement necessary to achieve the desired RF performance.
Installation & Field Execution
- Responsible for installation, transport, rigging, alignment, and final verification at customer sites.
- Ensure reflector accuracy is maintained under real world environmental and site conditions.
Minimum Qualifications:- BS in Engineering, Technology or related field.
- 10 years of machining and manufacturing experience in machinery building and construction, or similar equipment. Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in these areas.
- Demonstrated understanding of product structuring, assembly practices and standards. CAD experience preferred.
- Demonstrated management of salaried employees.
- Excellent communication and engineering skills are required to execute the duties of the position.
- In-depth understanding of the design and manufacturing aspects of single and dual reflectors for measurement applications.
- Understanding product costing and cost management skills.
- Proven track record of producing precision machined structures in support of RF measurement systems.
- In-depth understanding of dimensional metrology and environmental impacts on precision machined structures.
- Proven ability to work with product management, engineering, manufacturing, verification, and installation individuals and teams.
- Six Sigma and Lean experience is desirable.
- Believes in the Continuous Improvement philosophy.
- Due to the nature of NSI-MI Technologies' programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
- Domestic and International Travel up to 25%.
