Full Job Description
Summary of Role:

To manage the daily operations of the Mortgage Quality Assurance program for the Credit Union and Subsidiaries, ensuring that there is sufficient oversight and controls to mitigate regulatory and compliance risk.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the Mortgage Qualify Assurance daily workflow ensuring that all responsibilities are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
  • Develop and implement procedures for Audit/Quality Assurance processes, which encompass mortgage origination, pre and post close reviews and mortgage servicing, that satisfy the requirements of established guidelines.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching for staff development through various position levels and career pathing to ensure succession planning and building our future.
  • Promote a team atmosphere with a willingness to work in the trenches to do whatever it takes to get the job done right, the first time and on time.
  • Manage relationships with third party providers.
  • Support and perform the duties of other staff members within the Mortgage Quality Assurance department as needed.
  • Develop and maintain risk matrix for each area of Mortgage Qualify Assurance Develop review strategies though use of risk matrix.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all federal and state compliance requirements related to mortgage lending, both origination and servicing.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of GSE, HUD, and private investor Quality Assurance program requirements for mortgage origination and servicing.
  • Ensure the Mortgage Quality Assurance plans are updated annually.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance staff remain current on all applicable rules and regulations effecting Mortgage Qualify Assurance.
  • Collaborate with management of the Mortgage Division to assess areas of review, requirements, objectives, timelines, and to schedule check points.
  • Discover core causes of trended issues and work with management to resolve and mitigate future occurrences.
  • Prepare and present trending analysis reports for management of the Mortgage Division and follow up on action items.
  • Conduct research and completion of special projects and assignments.


Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of Five (5) years' experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of all Federal and New York State laws/regulations impacting the Mortgage Division.
  • Communication Skills - strong in both oral and written communication; must be able to make effective group presentations with a focus on training staff regarding technical areas; must provide clear and concise written communications.
  • Computer Skills - must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook with ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Analytical skills - collects and researches data, uses intuition and experience to compile and analyze data; designs work flows and procedures as appropriate for department efficiency.
  • Problem solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.
  • Interpersonal skills - works well with diverse groups of people; treats others with respect and dignity at all times; focuses on solving conflict without hostility; works towards achievement of mutual goals.

Starting Compensation: $77,376-$96,720 annually, plus a competitive benefits package.
