• MANAGER, PROJECT PLANNING & IMPACT
(Hybrid - Primary Remote in Ottawa, ON)
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director, Planning & Innovation, The Manager, Project Planning & Impact drives the delivery of portfolio initiatives within the frameworks and priorities set out by the Director. They are responsible for leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of key projects within the Safe Medical Care Innovation & Planning department. This role oversees the operations of project teams, manages resources, and ensures projects are delivered on time and within scope.
The Manager drives process improvement, fosters collaboration across teams, and implements evaluation and performance measurement frameworks to maximize impact. By aligning initiatives with CMPA's strategic priorities, the Manager helps deliver high-quality, innovative programs that support organizational growth and member needs.
POSITION ACTIVITIES
- Supports the planning, design, implementation, coordination, and execution of projects related to research projects, learning programs and products across the portfolios
- Collaborates with the Manager, Design & Innovation to design and implement shared goals, ensure alignment, effective engagement and execution of projects
- Supports design, implementation, coordination, and execution of projects related to research projects, learning programs and products across the portfolio.
- Champions and ensures consistent use of project charters, and documentation of timelines, and resource plans to ensure projects are delivered in scope.
- Ensures project resources are allocated within approved budgets and timelines.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including those responsible for content, design, production, evaluation, and accreditation, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Champions project management tools within standards (e.g. LMS integration, Monday.com); ensures staff adopt and maintain agreed upon templates, processes and repositories.
- Leads a team responsible for the development and implementation of division-wide performance measurement and evaluation frameworks and processes and enables the use of performance and evaluation data to support learning and decision-making.
- Analyzes project outcomes and identifies opportunities for process optimization and increased effectiveness and/or efficiency.
- Supports the co-development and implementation of competency-based frameworks and shared cultural norms to promote collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Supervises and mentors team members, fostering a culture of shared respect and continuous learning.
- Facilitates joint planning and evaluation cycles across dependent teams to maintain alignment on goals and deliverables and adoption of shared reporting expectations.
- Supports the co-development of integrated and standardized workflows where appropriate, enabling continuous improvement, role clarity, agility, and process optimization.
- Supports change management initiatives related to organizational structure, process improvements, and new strategic directions.
- Assists in workforce impact analysis, job description development, and implementation of new/revised positions as required.
- Engages key stakeholders to ensure shared goals and outcomes are being met and foster learning and improvement
- Ensures timely and ongoing communication with key stakeholders on projects and initiatives
- Works with the Director to identify strategic and operational challenges, barriers and opportunities requiring leadership support.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
§ University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent with additional training in Project Management, Evaluation, or a related field.
§ Certification in Project management (PMP) is desirable.
§ Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in project management, preferably within healthcare, education, or non-profit sectors.
§ Minimum of 3-5 years of people leadership experience
§ Experience developing and using performance measurement and evaluation frameworks and change management practices.
§ Additional courses or certifications in leadership and people management, process improvement, or organizational development are preferred.
§ Experience working in a member-focused organization with a demonstrated commitment to member learning and development is considered an asset.

- Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in both French and English is considered an asset.

- Job type: This is a regular full-time opportunity.

- Salary range: $135,600 to $181,400 - this role is classified as a level 11
- Location: Hybrid - Primary Remote. You can work from a home-based office the majority of the time within the provinces of Ontario and Québec, with regular on-site presence at the CMPA office (1-2 days per week). If you prefer, you can choose to work out of the CMPA office in Ottawa, Ontario near the beautiful Dow's Lake.
