Responsibilities

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Project Management to lead a portfolio of complex, cross-functional projects that drive strategic business outcomes. In this role, you will oversee project execution, portfolio prioritization, resource planning, financial performance, and stakeholder engagement while leading a team of project professionals. Key Responsibilities

Project & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects and programs across the organization
  • Align project priorities with strategic business goals and organizational objectives
  • Establish and maintain project management methodologies, governance practices, tools, and standards
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and performance metrics
  • Monitor portfolio performance, proactively identifying and escalating risks, issues, and resource constraints
  • Support portfolio prioritization and long-term capacity planning with senior leadership

Financial & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial performance
  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize project outcomes and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate business processes and recommend improvements to productivity, quality, and service delivery
  • Monitor industry, technology, and operational trends that may impact project success

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop project managers, coordinators, and project contributors
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities
  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and adoption of project management best practices
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, workforce planning, retention, and succession planning

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with leaders across operations, technology, product, engineering, sales, customer support, and other business functions
  • Serve as a key point of contact for project priorities, timelines, and outcomes
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning and communication to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop business cases, project proposals, recommendations, and executive presentations

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and competing priorities
  • Support teams in resolving complex project challenges
  • Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned
  • Utilize dashboards, reporting, and analytics to track project performance and communicate progress

 

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of increasingly responsible experience in project management, program management, computer software, or electrical engineering required
  • 2+ years of supervisory or people leadership experience required
  • 2+ years of 9-1-1, emergency communications, or public safety experience preferred
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Excellent project planning, program management, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and project management tools
  • Experience utilizing reporting, dashboard, and project portfolio management solutions preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required by business needs

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or other project management certification required

The compensation is anticipated between $115,000 and $125,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
