Full Job Description
The Manager, Privacy & Compliance is responsible for developing, enhancing, scaling, and maintaining privacy programs and processes across company-wide workstreams to support global data protection initiatives based on industry best practices.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to develop internal and external process improvements to build compliance solutions for organizational problems related to data privacy (e.g., Consent Management, System offboarding, Data Subject Requests, and Data Retention and Deletion).
  • Inform and advise Epson teams of their obligations to comply with the U.S. and global data protection laws and requirements, including CPRA, GDPR, and applicable U.S. state law requirements.
  • Manage and monitor internal data protection activities, training data processing staff and assisting with internal auditing and monitoring.
  • Advise on data protection impact assessments when required under Privacy regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and practical advice on and management of day-to-day privacy operations.
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to inquiries from data subjects on issues relating to data protection practices.
  • Manage cross-functional privacy projects, working seamlessly with teams like Security, Product, Engineering, Customer Support, IT, Sales and Marketing, and People Team on privacy related aspects of their workflows


Relationship Management:
  • Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, and developing group/department personnel.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problematic conditions that require escalation.
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and senior management to best meet company goals and objectives.
  • Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price/ product, etc.).
  • Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.
  • Department Management:
  • Operates within budgetary constraints.
  • Participates in the development of annual budget forecasts; updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required.
  • Develops and maintains written departmental standards and procedures.
  • Directly contributes to the development of tactical and annual operating plans by defining goals and objectives for the group.


Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data privacy program development and management
  • Prior experience managing and supervising direct reports
  • International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certification - CIPP, CIPM or CIPT (IS A PLUS)
  • Ability to work with key business and technology stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to ensure that appropriate data privacy standards and practices are in place
  • Strong program or project management skillset with working experience to manage concurrent initiatives
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and articulate the complexity of business processes, and build/develop practical communications plans based upon those needs
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Experience with OneTrust Tool, Data Crawler Tools (IS A PLUS )
  • Prior data privacy-related consulting experience (IS A PLUS )

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $182,895 and $205,757. Please note that this position's salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
