About the position

Duties
The duties of the position entail managing the Program Policy and Development Unit, which includes developing and providing briefings, presentations and strategic policy advice and recommendations to senior management on issues in areas of economic and regional development; developing and implementing grants and contribution programs and policies ; providing functional guidance to Program Delivery Managers and Officers; managing financial and human resources; analyzing team and staff performance and effectiveness, making recommendations on staffing, training, and resource issues; collaborating and maintaining relationships; and, participating in internal and inter-departmental working groups and committees.

Intent of the process
The purpose of this staffing process is to fill one (1) bilingual imperative (CBC/CBC) indeterminate Manager, Policy and Program Coordination position. A pool of qualified candidates will not be established through this process.

The position is located at any of FedNor's offices in Northern Ontario. The successful candidate must reside within 40 km of their designated work location or be willing to relocate to meet this requirement.

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position or acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience
• Experience in writing reports and briefings and providing advice to all levels of management on complex issues.

• Experience in liaising with various senior officials and other government departments (federal and/or provincial) and private and/or public stakeholders.
• Experience in the development or implementation of Grants and Contributions programs.
• Experience managing financial and human resources.
