Job Description

The Manager Pharmacy Business Ops and Med Optimization, provides operational and financial leadership for medication access, revenue integrity, and medication optimization programs. This role, in collaboration with the Director, Outpatient Pharmacy Services, is responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive medication access strategies spanning both medical and pharmacy benefit spaces to ensure timely patient access to therapy while maximizing organizational financial performance.

The Manager serves as the subject matter expert for medication access business operations, leading initiatives that improve reimbursement, reduce denials, optimize site-of-care utilization, maximize patient assistance opportunities, and support sustainable growth of specialty pharmacy and infusion services. The position partners closely with pharmacy, nursing, providers, revenue cycle, finance, payer contracting, purchasing, compliance, and site operational leaders to improve patient outcomes, enhance access to high-cost therapies, and strengthen financial stewardship.

This leader will build and oversee a Medication Access Specialist team while collaborating with pharmacy revenue cycle specialists to ensure end-to-end oversight of medication access and reimbursement activities.


Education And Credentials

Bachelor of Science or PharmD in Pharmacy required. PharmD Doctor of Pharmacy required. NYS Pharmacist License and Registration upon hire regulatory required. Board Certification, advanced pharmacy leadership certification(s) and/or advanced degrees (i.e. MBA, MHA, etc.) preferred.

Experience

3 years of experience in Health system pharmacy required. 1 year of experience in Leadership within a health system, academic medical center, specialty pharmacy, or infusion services environment required. 3 years of experience in Specialty pharmacy, ambulatory pharmacy, infusion services, medication access, revenue cycle, or reimbursement operations preferred.
