Full Job Description
PeaceHealth is seeking a Manager People Operations for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.

Job Summary

Oversees and delivers the human resources needs for assigned community or group of business units. Represents Human Resources as a member of the community leadership team. Provides HR expertise to senior leaders in the assigned community or group. Provides leadership and guidance to HR Business Partner Organization colleagues. Translates thorough knowledge of healthcare into HR best practices for the clients, focusing on organizational development, change management, leadership development, succession planning, operational effectiveness, and labor and caregiver relations. Aligns Human Resources solutions with PeaceHealth's organizational strategies, key objectives, mission and values. Functions as a working manager, maintaining a portfolio of divisional assignments.

Essential Functions

  1. Manages HR operations to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities within the assigned community or group. Supervises assigned staff; duties include hire, train, mentor, coach, corrective actions, maintenance of work schedules, authorizing time off requests, and conducting performance assessments.
  2. Serves as the main HR contact for senior level leaders for the assigned community or group on human resources related initiatives. Develops and implements strategic priorities that support mission, operational and department goals.
  3. Partners with assigned leaders and HR Business Partners to manage positive employee relations and training needs. Identify and assess the leadership, caregiver and team skills, competencies and structures needed to deliver on strategies; consulting with leaders on how to develop and/or realign to meet those capabilities; and monitoring progress to goals. Provides guidance, coaching and training on a variety of HR related topics. Applies analytics and metrics to drive sound recommendations and solutions.
  4. Works with People and Culture leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the HR Partner organization. Assures consistent implementation of system service initiative and programs while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  5. Provides consultation on complex caregiver and labor relations issues. Conducts investigations when appropriate and makes recommendations to support employment-related decisions.
  6. Serves as the local champion, oversees community-based activities and monitors the team's role in facilitating dialogue, training, monitoring and recognition of organizational culture and strategies. Provides appropriate advice, feedback and development resources to improve organization's effectiveness and performance management best practices.
  7. Builds strong and trusting partnerships with leadership and caregivers to maximize caregiver engagement, performance and HR initiatives. Prepares and delivers appropriate communications and presentations to leaders and caregivers on new policies, procedures, and HR practices.
  8. In consultation with People and Culture leadership, collaborates for appropriate outcomes with leadership, Centers of Expertise and the HR Service Center which balance caregiver needs, policies, procedures, compliance with regulatory standards and PeaceHealth's Mission, Values, and strategies.
  9. Participates in labor negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and collective bargaining agreements as required. Serves as point of contact for managing labor contract administration including grievances, contract interpretation and union representative interaction.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Human Resources or related field
  • Master's Degree Preferred: Human Resources or related field


Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years Required: human resource experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, which includes previous experience in an HR Partner role.
  • Minimum of 2 years Required: Leadership experience.
  • Preferred: Previous experience and proficiency in HRIS systems.


Credentials

  • Preferred: PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $116,000 - $174,000.
