PositionSummary

The Manager, Payroll Audit, Training & Resource leads the field auditing, staff training, and client implementation functions within the Client Fund Accounting National Operations team. Reporting to the Director, CFA National Operations & Internal Controls, this role manages a team of Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), field auditors, and an implementation manager, ensuring that employer contribution audits are conducted effectively, new clients are onboarded successfully, and CFA staff across the organization receive the training and resources needed to operate at a high standard.

KeyDuties and Responsibilities
  • Provides daily leadership and supervision to Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), field auditors, and the implementation manager, consistent with Company values and mission.
  • Assigns, distributes, and monitors quality and quantity of work produced, ensuring staff are held accountable for consistently meeting quality and production requirements.
  • Develops staff through performance management, goal setting, coaching, and effective employee relations.
  • Oversees the field audit program; ensures employer payroll audits are planned, scheduled, and conducted in accordance with client plan requirements and Company standards.
  • Reviews audit findings and reports; ensures accurate summarization of findings and corrective suggestions, and that results are communicated effectively to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversees the implementation of new clients and system conversions for existing clients; attends implementation meetings as the CFA subject matter expert, providing direction for programming and ensuring successful project completion.
  • Oversees automation initiatives within the CFA team; provides recommendations and plans for improving automation in contribution reporting and workflows.
  • Develops, maintains, and distributes training materials for new and current CFA employees on systems, plan rules, processes, and departmental procedures; facilitates training sessions as needed.
  • Partners with the CFA Operational Controller and Director to ensure SOPs are current and that training reflects the latest operational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Identifies gaps in business processes; consults with unit leaders to define needs, document requirements, and recommend system or operational improvements.
  • Supports management in the research and resolution of complex contribution, audit, and systems issues.
  • Reviews and approves timecards and time off requests; ensures accuracy of labor allocations and payroll processing information.
  • Maintains effective communications and working relationships with management, staff, clients, government agencies, unions, participants, attorneys, and consultants.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.


MinimumQualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in accounting, finance, payroll auditing, or benefits administration, including two years in a supervisory or management role.

  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office tools and applications.

PreferredQualifications
  • Experience working in a third-party administrator, insurance, or health and welfare environment.
  • Prior experience in Taft-Hartley trust administration.
  • Experience with client implementation, system conversion, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as necessary.
