Full Job Description
Responsibilities

The System Manager, Hospital Billing will have oversight of GHMC and GHMC-C hospital billing staff and supervisor. Is responsible for planning and implementing staff education programs including but not limited to the orientation of new hires and on-going staff education, assuring staff competence in providing quality patient care, quality patient information and quality financial information. Plans, coordinates, directs and monitors activities of Garnet Health's Hospital Billing Department including all Inpatient and Outpatient billing processes as well as cash posting functions. Formulates policies and planning for the Garnet Health's Hospital billing department to ensure maximum utilization of available resources and enhance receipt of working capital (cash) as economically as possible. Expected to maintain effective professional relationships with other department leadership, share ideas, and implement actions related to revenue cycle function and assist the Director in planning and providing quality audits to the compliance department. Works closely with Hospital Billing staff for both campuses to assist with billing activities to ensure a clean month-end AR such as denial management and WQ's; hospital billing WQ's and payment posting transactions and WQ's

Compensation for the role is $72,813- 91,016 per year.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Healthcare Administration required; or to be completed within 2 years of hire or transfer

Minimum Experience:
  • Requires 4-6 years of Revenue Cycle experience with a strong knowledge in a hospital billing.
  • Demonstrates strong written communication skills including report presentation, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Position also requires operational problem solving/decision making skills and the ability to prioritize, multitask and cope with diverse and complex situations.

Required Certification/Registration:

Physical Requirements: Travel to multiple facilities is required, including GHMC-C

Working Conditions:
    • Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
    • Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs.
    • Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
