SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing specific services in all areas of responsibility. Responsible for ensuring hospital and off-site laboratories maintain compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies. Responsible for fiscal management, performance improvement activities, and compliance with all relevant policies/procedures and regulations. Manage all aspects of personnel processes and daily operations for all areas of responsibility assuring the output of quality laboratory information in a timely manner. Provides input into goal and policy development, budget planning and future growth opportunities as appropriate. Provide direct supervision and oversight in all areas of responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  • Must be certified through ASCP, AMT or equivalent laboratory certification agency.
  • Six years clinical laboratory experience in related discipline with two years as Team Lead or equivalent leadership position.

Or

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Must be certified through ASCP, AMT or equivalent laboratory certification agency.
  • Five years clinical laboratory experience in related discipline with two years as Team Lead or equivalent leadership position.
  • A Master's degree may be substituted for one year of clinical laboratory experience in related discipline.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • One year previous experience directly Supervising Laboratory staff
